a traffic ticket is an arrest just like any other arrest. Any admission of guilt without one being read their rights is completely inadmissable in the court of law. If an officer doesn't read you your rights when making the arrest you can tell him you shot a man and he cannot use it against you in court. This is a very common mis-conception but it is true for all tickets.
